Located in the heart of Lowestoft town centre, Abigail Court is an exciting redevelopment project transforming a historic building into 31 temporary housing units, designed to provide much-needed accommodation for those in need. Having previously served the community as a chapel and a pub, the building is being given a new purpose while retaining its original character and architectural features. Working closely with East Suffolk Council, the project has involved carefully adapting the existing building to meet the requirements of modern temporary housing. The project demonstrates how thoughtful adaptive reuse can preserve a building’s heritage while delivering meaningful benefits for the local community. With the final construction and finishing works progressing, Abigail Court is entering the closing stages of its transformation.
